Strategies for Improved productivity

Over the last few years your ERP investment has delivered a number of efficiencies & productivities, but can you squeeze any more value out of your investment?
Many businesses tell us that one of the remaining difficulties with ERP is that 80% of information still resides in document format. Staff cannot easily interact with the documents they need to view, authorise, or create. In addition, it is difficult to exchange trading documents with customers and suppliers. Indeed, analysts say that these issues can add 20% to your operating costs.

Common difficulties include:

  • Lack of online authorisation facilities for purchase orders and supplier invoices causing unnecessary delays to the business cycle.
  • Letters, contracts, quotes & export documents, have to be generated via Microsoft Word, but it would be preferable if these could be generated via the ERP. You also want to cut the pre-printed stationery bill.
  • High levels of manual data entry as data from incoming customer orders & supplier invoices has to be manually keyed in to your computer system, despite it being created on another computer system elsewhere.
  • Automated XML & electronic delivery is difficult to arrange on the ERP.
  • Your sales & finance teams are bogged down with time consuming document copying, filing, distribution and sorting & collating documents for mailing.

Process Document Management (PDM) technology resolves all these difficulties and more.
