Metro Bank, the newest high street bank, have taken yet another step towards revolutionising banking by allowing its customers to electronically sign documents using their in-store surface tablets. This streamlines the customer on-boarding process by electronically producing the customer application form directly from T24. The customers can then physically sign the tablet screen, following which the signed document is then automatically emailed to the customer and archived for future retrieval, direct from T24 / Internet Banking. Additionally, Metro are also using AUTOFORM to capture and store a picture of the customer as well as their ID documents for customer identification.
The whole process is completely digital helping to achieve a paperless branch.
Craig Donaldson, CEO of Metro Bank, had this to say: “Technology innovation remains central to the bank’s customer centric approach. Metro Bank is focused on providing the best in service and convenience to its customers, through every channel they choose to use to do their banking. This means investing in market leading technology to support the customer journey. In Q2 new technology was introduced to allow customers in our stores to complete their account opening process electronically, by signing on a tablet and having their paperwork emailed to them, rather than walking away with paper to file.”
This entirely electronic process makes customer on-boarding even more convenient for Metro Bank’s personal and business customers.
